If you desire to make a difference in the world you must be different from the world.

The Pointe-a-Pierre Government Special School caters to a cross categorical population. We enroll students with special needs from the age of five. The enrollment process may either be initiated by a referral from Student Support Services, or by interested parties calling or visiting the school.
We serve a large catchment area and accommodate students from as far as Arima in the east and Point Fortin in the south.
We are also approached by schools within our district for the provision of support for students. These students are often not been diagnosed with a disability but are nonetheless having trouble; keeping up with their peers, adjusting to school or succeeding at the levels of their fullest potential.
Some of the disabilities that are catered to by our school include;
Autism,
Blind/Visual Impairment,
Cerebral Palsy,
Crouzon’s Syndrome
Downs Syndrome,
Hearing Impairment
Mild Physical Disabilities
Multiple Disabilities.
Slow Learners
Speech Impairment
Preference is given to children between the ages 5 to 7 who have been formally diagnosed with a physical, intellectual or emotional/behavioural disability.
N.B. Students must be medically assessed every three years following their first assessment by a recognize clinician.
A copy of each assessment report, as well as other medical reports pertinent to the students health such as; allergies and contagious diseases/infections etc. must be submitted to the school.
